In March 2023, Chinese auto companies exported 364,000 vehicles, a month-on-month increase of 10.6%, and a year-on-year increase of 1.1 times. The export of automobiles continued the trend of strong exports last year, and the growth rate has been rising since the beginning of this year. In terms of vehicle types, the export of passenger cars this month was 304,000, a month-on-month increase of 12.3%, and a year-on-year increase of 1.5 times; the export of commercial vehicles was 59,000, a month-on-month increase. 2.6%, a year-on-year increase of 19.8%, and the export of new energy vehicles was 78,000, a month-on-month decrease of 10.3%, a year-on-year increase of 3.9 times.
From January to March, auto companies exported 994,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 70.6%. In terms of vehicle types, 826,000 passenger vehicles were exported, an increase of 82.9% year-on-year, and 168,000 commercial vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 28.1%. The export of new energy vehicles was 248,000, a year-on-year increase of 1.1 times.
Among the top 10 auto exporters in March, SAIC exported 87,000 vehicles, doubling year-on-year, accounting for 23.8% of the total export volume.
Among the top ten auto exporters from January to March, in terms of growth rate, BYD exported 43,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 12.8 times. Chery exported 172,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 1.5 times, and Jiangqi exported 46,000 vehicles, an increase of 97.1% year-on-year.
In addition, according to the data of the General Administration of Customs compiled by the China Industrial Automobile Association: China exported 324,000 vehicles in February, a month-on-month decrease of 9.3%, and a year-on-year increase of 1.4 times. times.
Among the automobile export markets, the Russian market is the core market for growth, with a year-on-year increase of 5.5 times.
From January to February, 682,000 vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 1.4 times, of which 256,000 new energy vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 4 times.
Among the top 10 countries in terms of car exports, Russia and Spain have a strong market performance. The top three markets for new energy vehicle exports are Belgium, the UK and Thailand.
